COYOTES SIGN JEFF HOGGAN AND RYAN LANNON

GLENDALE, ARIZONA-- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed left wing Jeff Hoggan and defenseman Ryan Lannon to one-year contracts. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Hoggan, 30, appeared in 71 games for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) last season and recorded 29-31-60 and 59 penalty minutes (PIM). He also led the AHL in plus/minus with a +39 rating.

The 6-foot-1, 188-pound Hoggan has appeared in 99 career National Hockey League games with the St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins, recording 2-8-10 and 67 PIM. In 282 career AHL games with Houston, Worcester and Providence, Hoggan has collected 76-67-143 and 274 PIM. In 2003, he registered 1-2-3 and 23 PIM in 14 playoff games for Houston as they captured the Calder Cup. In 38 career Calder Cup playoff games, Hoggan has recorded 8-10-18 and 50 PIM.

A native of Hope, British Columbia, Hoggan played three seasons of collegiate hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha where he collected 52-47-99 and 252 PIM in 117 career games. In 2001-02, his final season, he was named a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) First Team All-Star as well as a NCAA West Second Team All-American.

Lannon, 25, played 75 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) last season, recording 3-10-13 and 29 PIM. He also added 1-6-7 and two PIM in 23 playoff games as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton advanced to the Calder Cup Finals.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Lannon has appeared in 217 career AHL games over three seasons with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, collecting 5-37-42 and 165 PIM. In 45 career AHL playoff games, he has registered 1-8-9 and 24 PIM.

Lannon played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Harvard, recording 4-34-38 and 147 PIM in 135 games. He was named Second Team All-Ivy League following the 2004-05 season. The Grafton, Massachusetts native was selected by Pittsburgh in the eighth round (239th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
