Burke Traded?
Just saw on ESPN bottom line that he was traded to the Flyers, and the details will be announced after the all star break.

According to the Phiily boards, looks like Bobby Clarke is going to get lynched.
Comrie (C), Heidenberg (D), and a 3rd for...
Burke and Branko

if that is indeed the trade that is going down, kudos to Barnett and the gang. Usually when the yotes deal with the Flyers, they're the ones getting fleeced.

I would have been much happier - if this is the trade - to get rid of Savage or Gratton instead of Branko

Burke to the rangers?
Rumors show that the rangers have put a deal in for Burke. The yotes want Jamie Lundmark, while the Rangers do not really want to give this guy up. I would take that deal any day. Possibly this other prospect Fedor Tyutin is up for grabs too. I like the philly trade although i agree we shouldnt let Branko go, let someone like savage go.

So why would the Flyers want an over-priced under-achiever in Savage or Gratton, instead of an up n'coming young, cheaper, better player in Branko
I'm sure the Coyotes would happily replace Branko with one of those guys, but I don't think the Flyers would go for it. And if the Coyotes are actually going to get quality back in this deal, they're going to have to give some up.

are you kidding me?
Well thre is no way the coyotes management will give up burke and branko for some winger like comrie and some injured defenseman whos gone for the season with 0 goals. We need more in return for giving up a top notch goalie like burke and a young kid with amazing skills like branko. You have got to be kidding me.

Well it is hard to get much in return for a goalie that is past his prime and is getting up there is age (37) and was injured for much of last year. Face it Burke is not what he used to be.
Also Branko has good skills but the people that we would be getting in return go beyond Branko's skills. If this trade goes down I will be sad to see Branko go.

Nope, I'm not kidding
Getting Comrie and Seidenberg for Burke and Branko would be a steal, talent wise, for the Coyotes.
While Branko is a good, up and coming player, Comrie is already there, having scored 33 goals in 2002.
I won't argue about Burke, he is a great goalie, but he is 37 years old with mabey a year or two left. I'd rather trade him a year too early than get crap for him trying to trade him a year to late.
Last I heard, the teams were also going to exchange a couple of draft picks and the Yotes were going to throw in a prospect. Anyway you cut it, the Coyotes will be doing well if they can get Comrie and Seidenberg (even though he is going to be out for a while)
Don't believe me that it will be a good deal, if it goes down...See how the Philly fans feel about it. (Hint: it ain't pretty)

My question is why do they hate Therein? His stats arent bad, in fact he has never had a season where his +/- is in the negative. But I really dont see this as a steal for us, but that may be just me. I think that it is a good deal for us and that we should do it. I will miss Branko. Cant we give up some prosepects or something? BTW can someone get me a site that goes in depth on prospects?

Yea, if thats the deal, I'm not overly thrilled with it. I'd like to see a D-man coming back in the deal, considering Tanabe's injury.
If they're not including Seidenberg, we shouldn't include Branko.
