According to Gambo and Ash...

The Coyotes have a 1 year 1.4 million dollar deal on the table for Teppo Numminen. He is mulling a simular deal from Dallas......

All of the sudden the Coyotes have a solid blue line, Teppo wouldn't have to be a #1 guy here, he is like the 4th or 5th best defenseman on the team. Much better than Suchy who had the same dollars coming to him.

Coyotes are the most active team so far in the offseason

They would be a hell of a fun team to watch next year, if they get Teppo and Hull. Their defense would be pretty awesome:

1st D
Morris - Tanabe

2nd D
Hulse - ODonnell

3rd D
Numminen - Mara

You can mix and match those names, but regardless, you have three good pairings. Anyone with a good prediction of offensive lines? (assuming Hull signs here)

I hope this is true. Teppo belongs here.

I agree. The Repo man isn't the player he was 5 years ago but he would still be a great addition to our blueline. It's good to hear that his health problems seem to be OK and he's going to be back playing hockey (somewhere).

Numminen in the middle of a full blown heart attack is better than Hulse on his best day

Wow, not a big fan of Hulse huh? He may have struggled at times but I still think he was one of our best defenseman last year. I know that's not saying much considering how bad our d was last year. But even if we sign the repo man I would still put Hulse as our 3rd or 4th defenseman right now.

IMO We only had one good D man last year which is why when Tanabe went down the season was over. I like Hulse slightly better than I do Mara which is not saying a lot. Suchy was decent but we were paying him too much. The Av fans acted like we stole D-Mo from them... Vanannen is a good young Dman and Gratton is a face off man which they desperately needed.

True, the season did go south once we lost Tanabe. We missed his speed and ability to break out of our zone. I think we had the worst D in the league last year after we lost Tanabe. We couldn't break out, clear the zone, clear the front of the net, or even cover guys. It was painful to watch at times.

As for Mara I couldn't agree more. It seems like most fans are able to overlook his defensive miscues because of his offense but I just can't do it. I think we should move him while he still has the "big upside" label.

Spiller was just too young and belonged in Springfield. And Suchy was just Suchy. I'm not losing sleep over him or Ossi. It would be nice to see the Morris from Calgary but he just doesn't look like the same guy. I'm not ready to give up on him yet. If he gets anywhere close to that level again that trade will go down as by far Barnett's best. I can't wait to see Odonell play...

So does it look like we're going to sign Hull?

If so,

If so,
He won a cup in Dallas. He has a house in Dallas. He's had our offer for a what seems like at least a week or two. Clearly Dallas is his first choice. He's using our offer to get more out of them. I think its crazy that we still even want him.

Yeah isn't a great? We got a guy who would rather be in Dallas but signed here solely because we offered a two year deal instead of one. I guess I underestimated his greed.
