Renardo Sidney visited ARizona and adds them to his list
Jerry Meyer of Rivals said Sidney enjoyed teh Cactus Classic and announced after that he has added UA to his list that includes USC, UCLA, ASU, Texas and Kansas. Also reportedly Ohio State although Sidney didn't mention them. Nobody is quite sure who of those schools has actually offered Sidney but in recent weeks it's been claimed that UCLA, USC and ASU are all recruiting him hard.
Will be interesting to see if the Mayo and agent revelations have any impact on schools recruiting Sidney since those are precisely the rumors that surround him and his dad.

I'm pretty sure they were recruiting him under KO, Lute's stance on him is not clear. Like with OJ Mayo, whatever games you win with this kid you'll probably end up forfeiting anyways so in the end is there really a point?

Yep. You should see the UCLA boards today should we stop recruiting Sidney in light of what Mayo allegedly did. I think everyone around now sees the potential downside.
And Memphis fans are nervous about Rose because they know damn well when Wetzel says agents say one agent spent 500K to get a player this year that it's entirely possible that player is Derrick Rose.
I think the Mayo story directly impacts Sidney's recruitment I'm betting several teams that were involved are going to be scared off now.
If Lute wanted Sidney so badly you'd think he would offer him a scholarship and would bring in a Reebok guy instead of the Nike connection he's getting ready to hire. Lute's job cannot be saved at this point, even he knows this.

Want to bet Lute wants this kid badly? He's in full job save mode right now. UA be damned. This is about Lute now.
Nice try, everybody in the AD and the basketball program knows Lute wants nothing to do with Sidney, be it his father or Renardo himself... No chance he ends up in Tucson.
If Lute was in full job save mode right now he'd be kissing Nic Wise's butt all over Houston to prevent him from transferring instead of telling him publicly to essentially put up or shut up.
Lute's biggest mistake isn't doing everything he can do save his job, there's no basis in fact for such a statement. Lute's downfall this offseason and what will cost him his job is his thinking that this is still 2001 Arizona and that he can run off players that are on the fence and still get be able to produce a solid product.

In fact the weekend scoop from the cactus classic event was that Sidney is talking about possibly committing to ASU.
Over the weekend, Sidney made it known that he is strongly considering enrolling at Arizona State. Good for Herb Sendek, although the Sun Devils may have to build a new dorm just to house Sidney's posse. That group includes his coach/father, Renardo Sr., who recently told Sports Illustrated that he was hired as a consultant for Reebok, moved his son from Mississippi to California and has twice switched AAU teams so that Junior "could call his own shots."
