Cats land shooting guard who will play this year

Welcome Kyle Fogg. At least we have some good news today. He is a 6'3" shooting guard who averaged 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. He will definitely help this coming year.

More on Fogg. Looks like he is a late bloomer. Reminds me when the Cats signed Arenas. Only the UofA and Kansas State were looking at him.

FYI Fogg has not qualified yet.

He's an interesting kid he's really skinny but as you said late bloomer Scout has him a 3 star now but I've seen a couple of things where people said he has really improved and was the best unsigned guard in the country.

Some are saying he's this year's Russell Westbrook but I'll wait and see. He hasn't qualified yet but it doesn't appear like it's going to be much of an issue.

Yes the Westbrook comparison has been used because like Russell, Fogg sort of blew up late and went from a bunch of mid major offers to pac 10 schools getting involved.

At this point anyone who accepts a scholarship for the 08 class is a huge get for UA... Obviously Fogg brings something to the table or else he wouldnt have been offered. The UA needs some serious help by Aug in this class.

No idea if this is true but Chris Monter claims UA is one of many big schools after Malik Story who decommitted from USC. Everyone at SC swears Story is not qualified but Monter says he's "fully qualified". If you see the attached clearly other schools arent' sure he's qualified either since he mentions checking transcripts or compliance.

------------------

Middlebrooks said that his phone has been ringing off the hook with schools calling to get involved in Story's recruitment.

"Georgetown, Arizona, Kentucky, Indiana and Minnesota have expressed interest in him," Middlebrooks said. "Kentucky wants him to visit. Georgetown wants to see his transcripts. Arizona got a commitment from another guard and is evaluating things."

"Colorado and Wyoming said that they will offer. Marquette is definitely interested in getting something done. Virginia Tech and Seth Greenberg is definitely interested. He wants to take everything to compliance."

"Marquette and Kentucky are the most serious," Middlebrooks said.

Story committed as a sophomore to USC and never really went through the entire recruiting process, according to Middlebrooks.

"He's never taken an official visit because he committed so early."

------------------------------

Those not familiar with Story good shooter, strong body but he never improved from a big freshman year. He and harden played together, didn't get along at all his dad is a pain in the butt and blasted the coach for running the offense for Harden not Malik. he committed really early to SC but USC no longer wanted him so it's largely believed Floyd ran him off.

I seriously doubt UA is recruiting him but Monter says so.

From what I know UA has no interest in Story and I doubt that changes.

I feel right now we need another frontcourt player. After losing Negedu we need to replace him. I guess Fogg was signed in case Chase doesn't come back. Unfortunately there are no more unsigned bigs in the '08 class so our roster will look like this:

C - Withey, Jacobson
PF - Hill, Onobun
SF - Horne, Johnson
SG - Fogg, Lavender
PG - Jennings

If Chase comes back and I hope he does he starts at SG ang Fogg becomes back up PG. If Wise comes back he backs up Jennings.

Anyone know what is the scoop on Jeremy Tyler, Alex Stephenson, Chase Stanback? I know Tyler suppose to be interested in UCLA but with Morgan and Gordon there is he still interested and with the speculation against USC is he even considering them? I know everyone is against going after Sidney but is there a chance look gives him another look over?

UCLA seems to want Stepheson, as does SC. Because his dad is sick it's believed he'll pick one of them, maybe Pepperdine, to be close to his dad.

Stanback the rumor is Pepperdine or Santa Clara(Keating recruited him to UCLA).

Tyler has the same problems Sidney does to an extent, he got in with "handlers" and hanger ons and his game has gone South and a lot of schools are scared off. He's said publicly he wants to go SC but that was before the Mayo scandal. Depending on the outcome of that investigation I think Sidney and Tyler may be radioactive for SC, they won't be allowed to touch them. I think Sidney goes to ASU or Ohio State.
