Bracketology for the 2008-09 season

It's never too early for next year's bracketology. Lunardi has the UofA a #2 seed. He must be assuming Chase is returning. It also doesn't hurt that we have the #1 high school player coming in with the #2 recruiting class.

A 2 seed not in anyones top 25? Two plus two does not equal four in this case.

Fact is somebody in the Pac-10 is going to get overseeded next March due to winning a very poor conference and UA has just a good a shot as anybody if Chase returns (which I think Lunardi is predicting but I'm not sure will happen). Everybody in the Pac-10 next year that has a shot in the Tourney is either marginally talented (ASU, Cal, UW) or inexperienced (UA, UCLA, USC). Nobody has the lethal combo of talent and experience that wins you championships and gets you far in March.

Really, I don't see KU as a 2 seed either, but what really chaps me is Duke/UNC in Greensboro. Do they ever have to play an away game?

Yes, they're called "neutral" court games at the Charlotte Bobcats arena and every now and then in the Meadowlands against a West Coast team.

And I agree that UA won't be a two seed next year even if Chase returns and I'm beginning to doubt he will. That being said, many people (most notably the ASU fans I heard on the radio who compare him to Mustafa Shakur) are discounting the impact Brandon Jennings will have. He'll probably match if not beat Jerryd's play from last year because he'll be playing in a system that fits his skills and can do more things on the basketball court.
