See this I don't mind. This is what makes college rivalries so fun. Its the sophomoric name calling and petulance of some Devil fans (ill give you a hint - one has an avatar that has a sun devil pitch forking the wild cat and the others screen name rhymes with AZSMALLER) that is irritating.
I wish you guys the best of luck the rest of the way (in fact I will be at the SC game) and you better be here to eat crow should UA win.

Do you really think Tuitama would be alive right now let alone playing if he had been hit as much as Carpenter has this year?
As a person: Tuitama >>> Rudy
Humble and quiet kid beats cocky, spoiled brat (and yes, that is an exact quote about Rudy from a friend within the football program). SK had his issues, but at least everybody liked him. Actually if you combined Keller's field leadership and poise with Rudy's desire and competitiveness you'd have one helluva QB. Put Tuitama's arm on that and you'd have John Elway.

I agree 100% and I'm not being sarcastic. While Tui has been better lately, he will now always be known as a system QB and should be. However, he seems to be a good kid and has dealt with the losing/health issues very maturely. He doesn't show up looking like a bum to his press conferences, doesn't take his helmet off after every touchdown while still on the field, doesn't drop "F" bombs on national TV, etc like Rudy does. Rudy is the better QB IMO but I would agree that Tui is more mature.
A part of me wishes that Rudy was a senior this year because I truly believe that Danny Sullivan is an NFL QB in the making. He reminds me very much of Walter but with better pocket presence/mobility. I still take sides with Sam Keller because I think he was the ultimate competitor and would have been a great senior for us this year. He had his issues but you can't negate the fact that Sam turned Rudy into the QB he is today. Without Keller pushing Rudy for the starting job, Rudy would not have developed as fast as he did. Competition is good and it yielded its ugly head in this situation (although Koetter was the one to blame)
This is all my opnion

You ever seen him throw? The kid has a cannon, good accuracy, and has decent mobility for a big guy. Does he have the mobility of Rudy? No, but I can assure that he doesn't hold onto the ball for minutes like Rudy does.
Call it backup COOLaide you want (did you mean Kool-aid?) but Sullivan has really impressed me when I've watched him. People thought Walter sucked and look what happened when he got the call............

I never said he sucked and I don't think he sucks, but I do think you have back up QB glasses on. Would he be better than Rudy eventually with 20 plus games under his belt, hard to say.
I do know that Erickson loves Rudy, senior QBs (which is what Carp will be seem to be a huge competitive advantage for teams and Sullivan outside of injury in all likelihood likely will never start for ASU, and if he does, I can guarantee you that will be the point every ASU fan with back up QB glasses on will start chanting for Elway.

And it's questionable if Elway would be the third best QB on the roster. If Samson Alphabet hadn't had shoulder surgery he might've been No. 2 by mid-season.

The post Rudy QB situation is going to be interesting to say the least, I'm fully expecting someone to transfer.

Correct. The same thing happens everywhere. Good young QBs with big egos refuse to sit for too long and transfer out. Can't blame them. I'd do it too.
Nobody can audition for the NFL sitting on the bench. That's often why 2nd tier division 1 and good division 2 programs often end up with pretty good talent at QB.

Don't overlook Chasen either. Those guys were pretty much even in spring ball, but one had some USC hype surrounding him.

I guess I am in between on Rudy. I don't want to drink the backup QB Koolaid. However, at the same time, I think people are kidding themselves if they think that Rudy is a great QB. He is not. He is good enough to help this team win and in the end I think that's all that counts.
I don't think anything more or less about him.

oh, don't get me wrong, as much as i'm not enamored with rudy i wouldn't replace him with ANYONE on the roster at present.
