He is a horrible, horrible commissioner. For starters there is no excuse for why the pac-10 plays in such horrible football bowl games (i.e. pac10 #2 v. Big12 #3), the officiating is absolutely atrocious in both basketball and football (so much so now that it's becoming comical to the other conferences) and he does nothing about it, and he is the biggest anti-CFB tournament person around (in fact, he is the one people always talk about when they talk about such people). I could go on but just typing this makes me angry so I am going to stop now.

The officiating part I agree with, but the conference bowls are a direct result of the poor traveling attendance Pac-10 teams bring with them. Hansen's hands are tied on that one.

This is great news, Tom Hansen is an idiot of the highest order. Almost every major decision he's made, and every policy he pursues is a stupid one. I hope they can find someone more qualified, more open to new ideas, and more progressive to lead the Conference of Champions.

Finally!!!
He was around longer than any other conference's commissioner, and he was horrible. Maybe now the Pac won't be the only major conference which doesn't get a second BCS bid. That guy lost soo much money for the PAC X. He was a joke of a commissioner.

Do you mean au fans? Oregon State filled up the Fiesta...When did a Pac team fail to sell tickets, when they were invited to a BCS game? Exactly. Never. Good ridance to that horrible commish...

I am so glad he's gone.
I'm an ASU alum and the the tv contracts he negotiated were never fan friendly.
If an ASU football game was not televised nationally, no local programming could pick up the game. We were forced to watch a game like Oregon State vs. Cal instead of ASU vs. Washington. Each year there are like 3 games that are not televised. In a day and age of mass media, this is absolutley ridiculous.
Good riddance to him.
