The SDS home crowd can still get loud, despite a number of years of average teams and horrible seating. Many of us don't appreciate that enough.

My other team, Notre Dame, plays to sellout crowds every week. Do you know what long time Irish fans call Notre Dame stadium on game day? "The Mausoleum."

The student body, seated in the corner of one end zone, yells itself hoarse. The other 65,000+ decrepit season ticket holders sit on their hands and dream of past glories and hope they remembered to take their morning stool softeners.

Tail gaters are now prevented from drinking openly in the parking areas at Notre Dame. Imagine enforcing that stupidity at LSU and Florida? Home field advantage at Notre Dame no longer exists. The atmosphere here is far better and I do not endorse drunken behavior at games. But come on! A football game is supposed to be a fun time and a party.
