They still have last year's roster on there with the exceptions of adding Dijon and Kurt Thomas as well as the subtraction of Q
The weird/funny thing is that they when I tried to update the rosters manually, it wouldn't let me do the JJ trade. The Hawks said they had no interest in my trade proposal

You can edit the rosters before you start the season/franchise. I wish EA would have at least put out an updated roaster before they released the game. Is sucks becouse I put Brain Grant on the team but 13Mil contact is not worth keeping around. I am already 6 games into my season. I was able to ship off JJ to the Hawks for M.Williams. He is a nice back up for Amare/Marion. Also traded House for H.Warrick. Moved Grant for some cheap back up center.
