The Madden 2005 Thread

It's that time again. EA gave their big announcement today. They now have online leagues. This was the main reason I bought ESPN NFL Football 2k5, thanks for letting me know now I was going to buy both games anyway

Actualy I was a big Madden fan even bought both last year, but last year Madden just was not as good as ESPN. I also moved from NBA Live to ESPN last year as well..

SweetD is actually right. I read more about online leagues and it's a disappointment compared to ESPN. It doesn't even track player stats for leagues. I want to know who's the rushing leader, interception leader, and so on. The rosters change as the real NFL rosters change, so that's not great either because we won't be managing our own teams. It tracks some team stats and it tracks records, that's basically it. I'm disappointed that they waited this long to announce it and claim it's "revolutionary" when it's not even close to ESPN's. Oh well. I'm buying Madden for the franchise anyway.

Hey Ryan, if you go preorder it at gamestop you might be able to get it Monday night. Thats what I did.

Oh and I already stopped playing NFL2k5. Franchise mode is what I play and the Franchise mode in NFL2k5 sucks.

Yeah, I hear they are shipping today depending on where you are and where you ordered.

Another thing about online leagues. You need a credit card to be able to join them. You need the number for this thing called "premium pass". Those who don't have a credit card have to pay $20 for this feature. EA says that next year they plan on charging everybody for it, that's why they started doing this right now. I don't like it

Anyway... I can't wait for tomorrow

I plan on picking up a copy when I get to work on Thursday.

Also, I claimed a poster from our store display for it, can't wait til I can take it home.

I have very little desire to play 2k5, cuz Madden is gonna be the game I play starting Thursday.

I just picked up an x-box. When is 2005 madden coming out? Someone in the thread said something about the 9th (today) and GM said Thursday? Which is it, anyone know? I might call in sick to work that day...

If you preordered it, you should get it today. Otherwise it will probably be hard to find until Thursday (Thursday is when the next major shipment comes in I believe).
