Woo hoo, you can spend months mastering crappy Jimmy Buffett songs!!
FTFY.

1. Great facility.
2. Seems to have a problem with all the riff raf hanging about (Seahags fans).
3. Loud.
4. No more Tuba Man
5. If the Seahags D were as dedicated as the yellow shirt smoking nazi brigade on the ramps - the rest of the NFC West would be in real trouble.
6. Great location - other than being located in the People's Democratic Republic of Seattle.
I am sure RB3, featuring new features and whatnot, will no longer be compatible.
IE: GH4 talks about a new feature moving your fingers on the frets to whammy, that would take different notes and recoding of all the old songs.
Dont expect compatible DLC to last forever is all.
IDK - I would think that you could write a simple translation program that would disable some of the new features on old songs - that gives RB / GH / Ukulele Hero some time to re-release. At least you can play them - I don't expect much else.

This is great news! The compatible DLC ensures I will stay with the RB platform. The last Pixies and Weezer DLC were huge hits in our household. We would have hated to lose it!
I hope they really make some better quality controllers though. Adjustable drums would be a great start...not just up/down but more like a standard drum set. Wireless would be welcome to get rid of all those USB extensions/booby traps.
I'm hoping RB doesn't waste time with the "music creation" stuff. There are way better software solutions for that (Garage Band, Acid, etc.) plus you can integrate real instruments if you want. IMO they should stick with gameplay and do it well with controllers that don't have tons of problems.
I find it interesting that they will try to bridge expert to real instruments?? I'd be curious to see how that works. I've definitely been inspired by RB to dust off my old 6-string and start jammin again. In fact I just picked up my first tube amp as well, loving the tone!

They seem to indicate that backwards compatibility is a priority to them. Even if it doesn't last beyond RB2, I will worry about that when RB3 comes along. Until then Kudos to Harmonix.

Also, regarding down load content, I totally agree. GH contect is not compatible with all their versions. GH3, GH Aoroesmith and GH World Tour all have different content and you can't use any of it between versions. It's a rip-off and a way to get you to buy multiple versions of the same content or make you buy specific content based on versions of the game.
How is that buying multiple versions of the same content? There's really not much difference between DLC and an add-on game like GH:Aerosmith. If you want the extra songs then its a good deal, but choosing not to buy it in no way impacts the functionality or your enjoyment of GH3/GHWT.

I am sure it si the fact that you have to put in a different disc to play a different song vs needing only one disc to play every song you have.
