PS2 vs X-Box
I am thinking about purchasing a PS2 or an X-box, and was wondering what you guys think is a better buy. I will be playing mainly sports games, and was wondering if the online gaming is worth it, what system it is best for, and basically what is a better buy....a PS2, or an X-box. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Graphics wise, you have to go Xbox. No question (plus it's easy to be modded). PS2 has more software and the online component is free (although unavailable on most games). Xbox Live, though, costs some dough to use.
Personally, I think PS2 was a better system until a couple months ago--Xbox has been getting a lot of games being released lately, and a lot more coming. In addition to worse graphics, the PS2 also has obscenely ridiculous load times on their games.

Isn't GTA for X-box now? How long before X-box is replaced?

It's awesome for the sports games I have right now...Madden 2004 and NBA 2k3...I love it.
I don't have the online service, but only because I can't afford it. But I want to try the free online xbconnect, just haven't yet.

Thanks a lot for all the help guys, i am slowly turning to x-box. After I saw the mod controller, the "s". I totally agreed with ryan in the past, the regular controller is just odd.
Anyway, what are these mods you speak of chap?

Modifications. It's fairly easy to mod an x-box to play games that you burn on DVD... But you didn't hear that from me.

Great for kids. Besides the fact that Metroid Prime and Zelda are two of the greatest games ever made. I have all 3 major systems, and they all have strengths and weaknesses. The Gamecube can't play DVDs. The Xbox is the only one where a memory is not necessary. The PS2 has slow load times.
I like the Gamecube graphics, but they appear to be more "cartoony" in nature. Great graphics, though.
