Madden 2006 Thread

I have a question for everyone. Can you play Madden online if you have dial up? Would it be too slow to play? I have a fairly new computer.

The graphics are identical to 2005, and the players are just as blocky.

We knew they weren't gonna put much effort into this one, with the NFL license buy-out, EA can just churn out the same game for the next 5 years and people will buy it, because it's gonna be the only NFL game out there.

Hopefully when the Xbox 2 and PS3 hit the field later this year/early next year, we'll see an improvement, but even then I'm guessing it's gonna be pretty marginal.

Yeah they are using the same graphics engine from the past 3 years... I assume they will update this when the nex gen consoles come out. I'm not to big on this "vision" thing they have going. Mostly because the secret of my success is running to the right and chucking a hail mary just as I am about to go out of bounds for 60 yards

Sucks I will not be able to pick up ESPN Football for $20 bucks but I need my football fix. I just hope they have updated roasters through out the year.

The whole field of vision thing seems like a pretty big change. I like it, it adds to the complexity of a passing offense (which Madden never really made seem all that complex).

I have been hearing rumors that the next installment will not be called "Madden"

I think that is correct since ESPN and EA signed a deal as well. So they should be changing the name to ESPN.

This isn't going to be one of those console-only games, is it?
