Guitar Hero vs Rock Band

With GH4 coming out soon with the added Rock Band type of Instruments for it, I was wondering which one people prefer or own.

I don't own either and was thinking about rock band utill I saw the post about the new Guitar Hero.

I voted Rock Band...however, GH4 looks like it may blow RB out of the water.

GH on one hand is recognizing that Rock Band is a better game and adding instruments. On the other other hand the Rock Band team (Harmonix) is the one that invented GH and if anybody knows how to innovate it's them. I don't think Harmonix is going to let the new GH team one up them.

Also, the way things are looking. Every 6 months or so your going to have to buy a new version of GH. They have all of these band specific versions and the only way to get those songs is to pony up $60 for each version. That is ridiculous. That alone would keep me away from the GH franchise.

It all depends I guess...

Rock Band if it's you and your friends.

GH if you're going solo.

IMO GH3 has better music than rockband.

But with that, I hate the GH guitars and rockbands gaming is far far better.

Also, lots of friends at my house every day, rockband is the best party game ever made.

It's the music not the game for me. Well I like RB's guitar better too...

I'm looking forward to GH4 though...

I have to vote RB. While I do like the tracks on GH, the fret buttons suck (too far apart for sliding to 5th fret) and the GUI is not anywhere near the RB interface quality (IMO). I was hoping for an upgrade to the graphics on GH World Tour but it doesn't look like it according to this video. (yes, that is Tony Hawk) I'm hoping RB comes out with a new game/controllers around the same time or shortly after.

Would any of you change your answers if RB controller worked with GH and eventually GH World Tour?

Haven't played GH3 enough yet. Hopefully soon.

if I could use RB guitars on GH I might change my vote, I love the tracks on GH. RB's music library sucks.

I only like playing the guitar. So guitar hero is the way to go.
