Could anyone here beat Mike Tyson in MT's Punch Out?
I could never beat the bastard....hurt my self esteem for years.
....but I could beat Mother Brain in Metriod, oh yeah! (without that stupid Justin Bailey code)

No, it wasn't impossible to beat Mike. Damn, I needed a strategy guide from Nintendo to do it though, his uppercuts were 1 hit killers. It's been about 15 years since I last played the game, so don't ask me how to do it

yep, I beat iron mike, too. but, i also needed the pattern. obviously, this was almost 20 years ago, but wasn't it something like 12 straight uppercuts---then you hit him----repeat---until you beat him. but if he hit you once, you were dead because you couldn't get out of the way. it was back in the good ole' days when my reflexes were a bit quicker than they are now.
that was a good game, though.
on another note, my roommate in college held the 'nintendo world record' for the original golf. he shot 21 under, i think. he had to take screen shots and send them to nintendo. i did a google search of his name recently and one of the links took me to a listing and there was his name on an old nintendo website. pretty hilarious. he played it a ton, actually ended up flunking out of school because of his nintendo playing. i'd go to bed at midnight, and he'd be 'taking a break' from studying for a little nintendo......i'd get up at 7 am and he'd still be sitting there playing, and the textbook was still open to the same page....chips and pop cans all over.....pitiful........ahhh, those were the days........

I couldn't even beat the guy before Tyson. So I never got there without using a code. It sucked too - if you lost to Tyson you didn't get a rematch I don't think, you had to go back to the guy before him first. Or am I not remembering that right? That's a long time ago!
What was the guy's name before Tyson?

I don't know why I remember the most trivial of facts.
It was Soda Popinski. I'm actually ashamed I remembered that
Oh and after you beat him, you got the code to go straight to Mike.

You ever notice when you knocked Bald Bull down it looked like his wiener was hanging out of his shorts. When my friend pointed that out my first response was "ewwww" and my second response was "ha ha, his wee wee is sticking out!" Um... I was in like 3rd grade at the time. Ok, so I still think it was a funny oversight.

Ah!! You're right. Thank God, I'm less ashamed now
I don't know why I confused the two. Did they have the same body type?? I remember several characters were the same body, just different colors and heads.
