Anybody playing Gun?

I have seen some commercials for a game called Gun (old west style game)and I was wondering if anyone has tried it.

It looked pretty cool.

I rented, then bought it from Blockbuster. Awesome game.

Basically a shooting game, with a San Andreas type game play. Old west, good stuff. At least try it.

Three thumbs up from me.

I saw the ads and then read the review on gamespot. I might pick it up. The review kind of reduced my interest.

I've beaten it and it was a really good game. My only problem with it was that it was too short (about 8 hours with me doing just about every quest). It was also a little gory for younger kids.......for example, you can scalp enemies that aren't quite dead (leg wound or something) and blood flies into the air as you hacksaw their head. The funnier thing is that scalping people really has no purpose (you should've been able to see or trade them to the indians). Also, late in the game you get a Bow & Arrow and eventually you get arrows with dynamite attached to them, which are fun to shoot into everything. I've shot them into bandits on horses and then after the explosion you might see a horse head flopping down the hill. Or you can shoot them into a pig and watch him run around the farm squealing until he explodes and pig parts go everywhere.

The gameplay is very good (although a bit easy until the final battle) and they've done a good job integrating horseriding into the game. It's also an open map so you can explore everywhere without having to follow some preset path that only allows you to go to your next quest like a lot of games. The visuals are good and the audio is excellent (voice acting especially). The side quests get a little repetitive, but they're still fun and you could literally spend and hour or two just riding around the map looking for gold piles to collect and killing the randomly generated bandits. This was definately one of the best western themed games that I've played since Outlaws for the PC.

Congrats on beating the game. For the past week I've been stuck. I'm on the part past escaping the fort with the indians but then I'm stuck where you have to defeat the one guy on an island all by yourself. I don't have a weapon, nor can I go back and get one. Any ideas/suggestions or tips on how to get past this part?
