A Video Game Based On A Band, Album, or Song?

I know this might be one of those rather "out there" threads, however, have you ever thought of a video game based on either a certain band, album, or perhaps just one song?

For example... it would be interesting if there was a video game based on "Demanufacture" by Fear Factory or perhaps "Operation:Mindcrime" by Queensyrche...

The band concept could be interesting.. it could include the band on tour with their groupees and whatever they may encounter along the way.. or even in the recording studio in which you could simulate them putting together an album.....

Anyone else have any other ideas to add?

I'd like one based on Crosby, Still and Nash. We can call it, "The Most Boring Game Ever."

Rated E for everyone.

Journey (video game)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search
Journey is an arcade game made by Bally/Midway in the 1980s. In 1983, the release of the Frontiers album brought the band Journey to the forefront of 1980s rock music. Bally/Midway decided to ride this wave of popularity and created an arcade game based on the band.
The featured members of the band are: Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Steve Smith, Jonathan Cain and Ross Valory. Although they have cartoon bodies, the faces of the members are shown as black and white photographs, taken of the band while on tour. The photo technology was orignially to be used in another game, which would take photos for the high scores. The game never got passed testing due to somebody flashing the camera in the arcade they put it in to test.
The game starts out with the player choosing one of five planets to travel to. Each planet features a game starring one of the Journey band members, with the objective of collecting his musical instrument (or Steve Perry's microphone).
Once the instruments are collected Journey performs a concert. During the concert sequence, an edited, looped version of "Separate Ways" is played through an 8-track tape player inside the machine. The nature of the units mean that very few are still in good working order, which could explain why the game is quite scarce at this point, rarely being seen at arcades.

Operation: Mindcrime would be an obvious choice for a good video game based on an album. Really, though, the game Hitman vaguely reminds me of that album. It would be awesome if they did an actual game that strictly followed the story lines of that album....

I always thought that a fighting game (a la, X-Men) starring heavy metal mascots would be awesome. I'd start the lineup with Crazy Eddie, Vic Rattlehead, am Ozzy-based character, a Pus Head-based character, Funny Guy (Anthrax) and others would be a good start....

How about a group fighting game...

Pantera vs. Rammstein

Chicago vs. REO Speedwagon

Britany Spears vs. Christina Aguilera vs. Jessica Simpson

Or better yet:

Pantera vs. Jessica Simpson
and
Reo Speedwagon vs. Britany Spears

As a matter of fact, it could be called CELEBRITY DEATHMATCH SUPERSTAR EDITION
