Wow

Looking at our lineup tonight, of the 8 position players in the lineup 6 had OBPs of less then .330. 3 of those had OBPs less then .280, our leadoff man, 6th hitter and 8th hitter. You arent going to score many runs when 3/4 of your hitters cant even get on base 1 out of 3 at bats. Im glad our scouts and player development people understand that OBP is important, hopefully our management will too soon. Not much you can do about this year, but we definately need a cahnge in philosophy from the one we have now, like puting womack at the top because hes fast even though his OBP is around .260.

I was wondering what the team OBP was. We are third lowest in the NL in walks, which is just a distressing lack of plate discipline. This is not being "aggressive", it is being impatient and overreactive. Edgar had 70 pitches in the 4th or 5th inning, Davis had 35. That happens way too much, and I have to assume no one on BB's staff has tuned in to these factors. Drives me nuts, because I believe this team can hang on and climb hand-over-hand back into it, but - not by playing the way they continue to play.

This team is toast. They were cursed from opening day when Brett Prinz went on the DL.
The Diamondbacks will be lucky to finish in third ahead of the Rockies this year.
