If this isn't the Peter Principle in action... He's going to ESPN as a TV reporter - Geez - they need better talent scouts! That's too bad, I always liked ESPN. I enjoyed the (unintended) irony in his little comment: "Fans generally can see through the transparency of those with little substance. Trust your instincts; they're usually right on."

Gee thanks, you guys are inflicting Pedro on the rest of the country. Just what we need.
Not surprising though, he's been kissing ESPN butts for a while and desiring to make a move upward. I hope he covers other sports more than he does baseball.
Actually I found this to be the most telling line of all - He found the two D-Backs losses in the Bronx more memorable than the Game 7 win. I always knew he hated the D-Backs

My time at The Republic has always been memorable, whether it was traveling with the Baltimore Orioles to Cuba, the country of my parents, reporting from the Bronx, where the Diamondbacks suffered two of the most excruciating losses in World Series history.

Wow, you're absolutely right! and is his East Coast bias overt or what? Baltimore Orioles...the Bronx... Maybe they wouldn't let him IN for game 7. But alas, folks, he will apparently still be residing in the Valley for now, even though he'll be with ESPN.

Great, wonderful, exhilerating news. When I read it this morning I about jumped up and did cartwheels. Do ya think maybe his going had anything to do with all our comments on this and other message boards??? Like maybe he finally figured out that no one was going to take what he wrote seriously anymore so he had to start finding somewhere else to go that would allow him to write/speak about his obvious NY bias. Anyway, YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE. Bye bye Pedro.

Good riddance for us and this hack won't be difficult to replace on the Repulsive staff... I fear that ESPN will look at Pedro as their resident "expert" on Arizona sports... I'd love to see him attempt to interview the Texas Rangers manager since he knows all the inside info on him
