Maybe if we take up a collection!

The final score:

Vladimir Guerrero - 1
Other Expos ------- 0
Arizona D'backs ----0

Maybe if we take up a collection, Joe, Jr., can bring him here!

probably be cheaper to pay off Matty or Womack's salaries (OK, OK, or Grace. Or Q.) and bring up Cintron and Tracy...but either way, I'll contribute to the bake sale.

I'll bake some cookies

Geez, this "welcome to the D'backs rotation" hazing their putting BH Kim through is mighty inpressive.

A lot like what Randy Johnson had in 1999 when he went 17-9 2.48 ERA on a 100-win team that led the league in run-scoring b/c they chose his starts to get no-hit, 1-hit, 2-hit & 3-hit in four straight starts.

But BK is supposed to be a better hitter than RJ was, so there's really no excuse for tonight's shut out. He left 2 on base. But I still like his chances for moving up in the order eventually.

When BR (Babe Ruth) made the transition, on his pitching days, he first hit in the 9 hole, but I don't think we can afford that.

Elmer is 3-for-9 and hits lefties very well over the past 3 years:
.279 BA .354 OBP, .302 SLG, .656 OPS

Elmer Dessens 3-year batting splits

He obviously should have been considered as a pinch-hitter--I thought BB liked to go with the hot bat?

That was early in the '99 season, but the D'backs choose certain pitchers to continue this hazing long after the initiation.... check out Brian Anderson's run support last year for an example of that!

Poor BA, not only run support, but the bullpen made sure he got the total treatment.

I wonder how he likes it back in Cleveland

Brian is 2-2 with a 3.51 ERA in Cleveland. He ranks 36th in the AL in run support at 4.21 runs per game.

And BK? He ranks dead last in the NL in run support at 1.74 per game.
