Baseball Nicknames are Ridiculous
Why does every (well about 95%) of baseball names have to end in "E".. For example.. Webb = Webby, Grace = Gracie... Why is this like this? It drives me up a wall.. Or The "rods" A-Rod, K-Rod.. With the length of a baseball season youd think they could get more creative with these names..
Dont know why I just ranted about this, but it does piss me off..

It's the announcers reminding us that, even though they don't wear a uniform, they are Diamondback insiders.
But it does wear thin after awhile.

i dont like how the dbacks force the issue on the nicknames, let players like Justin Upton, who already have nicknames from their life have those (J-Up), but dont force it with Mark Reynolds (Sheriff) i mean honestly sheriff is the worst nickname, it doesnt make any sense

They call Reynolds the "Sheriff". At least that is original.

Haha I was just complaining about this to someone the other day. Its not just pro baseball players its anyone that plays baseball, they always call their friends by these annoying nicknames. Matty is definately the most common. Any guy named matt that ever played baseball was called matty. While only 34.6% of non-baseball playing matts are called matty.

It's our obsession with celebrities and our egos.
We treat anyone whose name is known to the public as gods . . . and pretend familiarity with them through those goofy nicknames.
Human nature is not logical.
