Another great intro is Pete Townsend's, Face The Face, from the White City solo album.

Dude, that entire song rocks and I definitely agree! Love the line "you ain't a beauty but hey, you're alright!"
I like the intro to "Crazy Train" by Ozzy.

Yeah, I agree about that intro.....In fact, most of The Who's intros were solid, from "Anyway, Anywow, Anywhere" was innovative for '64 to the the synethizers that begin "Had Enough" and "New Song" (with that guitar solo courtesy of Townshend) both from "Who Are You" are done brilliantly....
For anyone who hasnt really listened to much of The Who, here's a link to sample most of their catalogue...
http://cdzlimited.org/rock/S_Z/who.html
I could go on and on about them, but will eventually post another thread entirely devoted to them......
As far as other intros.... I forgot one of the better ones....which is Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child".....

4) "Army Dub" - Gomez
5) "Get Miles" - Gomez
6) "Hand In Your Head"- Money Mark

Also the live version of The River has a great monologue and intro.

Ahh yes the late great Randy Rhoads. Works best in true stereo so you can "see" the music jump back and forth between the speakers. The Cars "Moving In Stereo" does the same thing.
Funny but while intros are great I also love songs like say Falling off the Edge of the World by Black Sabbath (Dio not Ozzy) that sort of start slow and build up and then go crazy. Another song like that is My Michelle, Guns N Roses off Appetite for Destruction, still my favorite song on that whole CD.

Anyone mention Van Halen "Running with the Devil."
Way down the list but still good back in the day, David Lee Roth, "Yankee Rose" intro.

NWA had some classic intros. I wont even say the names of the songs. Even the titles are dirty.
