Rate these two Dimmu Borgir cd's
I just bought them, and haven't had a chance to fully check them all out. I'll post my response later, and I know I'll love em, because I am a Dimmu Borgir mark out.
Just got the '99 release "Spiritual Black Dimensions" and the '03 release of "Death Cult Armageddon".
SeedsofHate and Vince56 are the only ones I know will respond.
By the way Vince, love the music you got up on your site. You're really good and talented, IMO. Thought I'd let you know, since I didn't take time to right a Private Message back.

Thanks for the nice words Trent. School's out this week and I'm taking the next month to finish the album.
As for Dimmu, they're interesting. I LOVE, I mean **LOVE** their music, but I can only take so much of their singer Kinda the same thing I said on the other thread about Opeth. I picked up this "monsters of metal" DVD at Zia about a month or two ago, and it has to Dimmu songs on it. Their videos are awesome. I love the way this band looks and how over-the-top they are. Their sound is absolutely brutal. I haven't heard their new album, but I might go check it out sometime. Let me know what you think of their new one, I'd be interested in checking it out..
BTW, sad what happened to Dry Cell, I'm not trying to dig up a bad wound, but you must know I think you guys were great.

I like "The Blazing Moonlight Of Defiance", but some of it sounds repetitive. I haven't heard their newer stuff. Much better band than Cradle of Filth.
One good thing about bands from overseas is that you can tell they've not been influenced by L.A.

I completely agree oran. I got into the European metal scene a few years ago when I heard Stratovarius. Their singer is annoying, but I love their music.
In Europe, it's like Nirvana never happened.

Yeah...I like the overseas bands a lot...they have unique, and badass sounds! I love how the keyboardist on Children of Bodom goes along with the guitar rhythms.
Vince, the vocals don't bother me that bad, I'm really into these types of bands for the awesome, euphoric and epic types of sounds they put out. I can go all day without caring for vocals with these groups.
