Has A Certain Song Ever Made You Cry?

Has a song ever made you cry? It could be for several reasons...such as a "break-up" of some sort or perhaps reminds you of a loved one who has perished...

2 songs have consistantly made me cry practically every time I've listened to them... One is "If You Leave Me Now" by Chicago which lead me to tears ever since I was around 3 years-old... My mother would constantly listen to "Chicago X" and sure enough whenever that song came, it would never fail...I guess because of Peter Cetera's extremely emotional vocals....

The other song that makes me cry whenever I even just think of the lyrics is The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me"..... What's so remarkable is that how Roger Daltrey delivered the song so dynamically even though that Pete Townshend wrote all the lyrics himself....

So, what song(s) has had this type of affect on you?

Good choice. When done right (not very often anymore) there is no more emotional song for me than this.

Another one is Amazing Grace when played on the bagpipes because that is usually done for a fallen firefighter or police officer and I find those funerals incredibly difficult emotionally...and I have been to a few of them.

Lean on Me brings tears to my eyes if I'm drinking alone and happen to hear it...I've said too much.

Dropkick Murpheys play Amazing Grace, with full on bagpipes and everything.

Another song that made me a cry a couple of times is "Last Goodbye" by Jeff Buckley, especially since there's so much irony.....

Edit: Come to think of it....All the tracks on Buckley's "Grace" have the same kind of impact...

"Tears in Heaven." It came out right after my friend was killed in a car accident. (She was 20 years old.) Still can't listen to it.

Oh, and that Time of Your Life song by Green Day. I don't know why.

"Somebody" by Depeche Mode used to make me cry, but I'm over it.

Not all the time, but when I listen to Hanson's "With You In Your Dreams" I get teary eyed because it's a song about someone dying, but that they'll always be with you and blah blah.

I get teary eyed with the Star Spangled Banner, too.

"What Might have been" by Little Texas, country song that was popular when my parents seperated when I was 22.

And Butterfly Kisses....I dread the day my baby girls get married.

Dang now you got me all emotional...I have to move on to another thread!

Butterfly Kisses made me tear up...but the main one I remember is "Love, Me" by Collin Raye.

Also, the Star Spangled Banner has made me cry before as well.
