This poll will contain more options than the previous one, however, if you feel I omitted anyone of worthwhile...please feel free to "write them in"....

Hands down - Victor Wotten (from Victor Wooten - solo, The Wotten Brothers and especially Bela Fleck and the Flecktones). Nobody can touch him!

Claypoole for originality. Wooten rocks, I've had the pleasure of seeing Bela Fleck a few times, I hate bluegrass, but those guys are great musicians.

Marty Friedman? The guitarist from Megadeth?
Also, though he's not my vote, John Patitucci (jazz guy) should be on the list as well. Sick, sick jazz bassist. John Myung from Dream Theater should also get a nod as well. Awesome players, both of them.

Cliff Burton could play a bass like a standard electric guitar....awesome.
I voted for Claypool, he is just a mastermind
Also, the guy from Tool is just a sick bastard! Gotta see him live to believe it

Dude,
I'm the biggest Nirvana homer of all time and I wouldn't even put Krist Novoselic on this list

Whoops!
I wonder what I was thinking at that moment?
I obviously meant David Ellefson!
Oh well.... And unfortunately I cant blame "PWI" for that major oversight since I've been completely sober for several months!

I listed him since he helped anchored Nirvana especially since Cobain's guitar playing was too erratic...

Gotta be Stu Hamm. That dude is awesome. He plays bass unlike anyone I have ever heard although I do think Les Claypool is a top notch bassist.

Completely agree. Saw him play "Linus and Lucy" live once when he was backing up Satriani. Pure magic. Only guy other than Stanley Jordan that can REALLY pull off two-hand tapping and make it sound like 2 instruments.
