Pariah's Review:
Ahh, the Pogues. Reminds me of my college days at ASU, drinking like Irishmen at a wake (even though only about a quarter of us were Irish and nobody died).
Some great music came from Shane McGowen and the boys. Peace and Love is a fantastic place to start if you've never listened to the Pogues. They've been called a cross between the Sex Pistols and the Chieftains, and while I don't think that entirely captures the band, it's pretty close.
The album starts with "Gridlock," which always reminded me of the intro to The Untouchables--it's a big band-esque piece that's a fun intro to the rest of the drinking and fighting songs to come. "Young Ned of the Hill" is a classic 'I'm Irish and I hate the English' song. "Boat Train" is a lot of fun to drink hard liquor with.
All in all, this is a very fun, well-written and well-performed album.

What's with the "linking" jpg above? I've tried to paste 2 different pictures of the cover and it's okay for a few minutes then gets changed to this?
Weird.

No love for the Pogues? I thought I'd go out with a bang with this album, but instead I get bubkis. Not only that, my cover is geting rejected. I hate getting rejected--I get enough of that at home.

I cut and pasted an image of the cover.. I listened to some of the Pogues, but it's been a long time....I might as well check them out again since my recollection of their music is quite vague....

That's the very same one I used first--same size and everything--the clickthrough from the discography section of Pogues.com, right?

I've never heard of this group. I'll "check out" some of their music and post a response. Any songs you recommend?

I actually found the cover on this folllowing link...
http://cover09.cduniverse.com/msiart...0000017193.jpg
I noticed sometimes that certain sites "copy-protect" their images.... I learned on here the "hard way", but glad noone noticed.... I was trying to post some photos of a few models on the "Hot or Not" thread in the "Everything Else" forum and instead of the images I had in mind...it turned-out to be pictures of nude
"dishevelled" wrinkled old men....Fortunately though I immediately discovered and corrected that problem without any conflict or humiliation....
