Album-a-day #44: Back in Black

Album-a-Day #44: Back in Black

Artist: AC/DC
Website: http://www.acdcrocks.com
Album: Back in Black
Year Released: 1980
No. of Discs: 1
No. of Tracks: 10

Track List:

1. Hells Bells
2. Shoot to Thrill
3. What Do You Do for Money Honey
4. Given the Dog a Bone
5. Let Me Put My Love into You
6. Back in Black
7. You Shook Me All Night Long
8. Have a Drink on Me
9. Shake a Leg
10. Rock & Roll Ain't Noise Pollution

An album I'm sure a lot of us grew up with. Just a top-to-bottom rockfest.

The album was made in 1980 after the death of their original singer Bon Scott. I like all the songs on the album, but "Back in Black" and "Shoot to Thrill" are my favorites. It's never going to be recognized as a musical masterpiece, but arguable one of the best party albums of all time.

I like the opening hook of "Back in Black" - easily one of the more recognizable riffs in the rock world.

Before CDs came out a good friend of mine burned thru six cassetes from playing it so much in his car. According to the website, this album has sold over 16 million copies.

That's a tough question since (well to me anyways) the intro to "Thunderstruck" is equally as good....

I love when AC/DC's music gets played either at bars (IE poolhalls) and sporting events since their sound is soo electricfying..... They are one of the best heavy metal bands of all-time...Brian Johnson has one of the most distinctive voices in all of music and over the years hasnt lost the dynamics of it.... Solid choice with this album....

Hells Bells is great. I hate the Oakland Raiders, but they play Hells Bells before their introductions and it got me fired up. The Black Hole goes nuts!

My favorite ACDC song is "It's a Long Way To The Top" (If You Wanna Rock and Roll)
