For those of you who like progressive rock - this is a very cool band - Porcupine Tree. I just found out about them in the Summer of last year. This album is a concept album - it's very dark subject matter but the writing is very good and consitent throughout which is something that I'm fairly hung up on. I want an album that isn't all over the place but is focused and that I can throw on the player and not have to worry about skipping around. This is one of those albums.
The song that I think most people may be familiar with on this album is "Blackest Eyes" which is the first track from In Absentia. They remind me of a cross between Pink Floyd and Radiohead but with a very sharp metal edge to them.
I believe that you can listen to samples of songs off this album and their previous albums at that website.

Not suprised this got almost no replies. Your one of the few people that I've met that likes this band. I found out about them a month or so ago, and can't get this CD out of my CD player .Every song is amazing, and it really saddens me that nobody knows about them. It ranges all over the place, from the amazingly beautiful song 'Trains' with the very cool banjo part midway through to the heavy proggresive metal song in 'Wedding Nails'. All the way through solid, solid, CD.

yeah - i like every song on this album. if you like these guys, you might want to check out Dead Soul Tribe. they've got some pretty good stuff as well. not quite as consistent, but still worth the money.

I love this CD. One of my favorites. Recently got their debut CD "On The sunday Of Life" - very different but still entertaining. Great band.
