Sorry but this is still the dumbest thing Marvel has ever done. They basically restarted the entire comic book line Ultimate style.
Totally disagree. Nothing has changed but Pete's marital status.
Also, have you been reading it? If not, maybe you ought to withhold judgment until you do. The two readers of comic books on this thread are in agreement that it's been good.
I'm not saying you still wouldn't like it, but I don't think you can base an accurate opinion on a news article.

So the last couple of decades still happened...Peter revealed his identity and Aunt May is still dead?
I know you're mostly ribbing me, but here's a serious retort: Yes, the past couple of decades still happened. May never actually died--she was at death's door when Peter made the deal.
As for his identity, yes, that was also included in the deal. But, as I said, that's one of the things that was broken with the character, IMO.
I've had a subscription to Amazing Spiderman for 25 years. I find this storyline to be absolutely breathtaking. Best stuff since the introduction of Venom, in my opinion.
Eh, the character's so old enough where it's hard to keep things challenging.
I preferred the separation (divorce, whatever it was) because it seemed to fit into the "Peter's life sucks" theme (vs the Pete's married to a supermodel, which I thought was pretty anti Pete, but a good way of nice guys getting the girl).
I do wish they'd finally let May go though, she's one character who needles me. They've tried a million times, but it never seems to stick.
As far as addressing the storyline itself, I was pretty against the whole "Ultimates" lineup when it first came out. After giving it a shot it became one of my favorite lines.
I'm more than willing to give a chance to the latest arch, I just hope it's written well, otherwise it'll be deserving of any outcry it gets.

I agree about May. I wish they'd done a reader vote thing, like DC did with Robin.
Also agree with the Ultimates line. That's some good stuff (although ultimate FF is wearing thin on me).
I'm going to wait until "The Ultimates v3" is done, though, until I start reading it...I hate the delays that title always has.
BTW, ASM is out 3x a month now. Which will end up being a wash with all the times that title was delayed over the past year, too.
Delays are a whole 'nother subject...I could go on for hours about how that pisses me off...*ahemultimatehulkwolverine*...come on lindenoff. The writers strike should be giving you plenty of time to finish that one...

That's a very good idea and I'm surprised in the days of the "WWW" that something like that hasn't been done.

Oh I was about to start a thread on that. The story (2 issues in) has been very cool. The art is Joe Madureira as good as he's ever been (I'm a huge fan). If it's collected in hardcover I'd be all over it. And I'm cheap!

In the latest Wizard (#197) Denny O'Neil and Judd Winick are debating Winick's "bringing back Jason Todd." O'Neil says - with a little over 10,000 calls received - "The 'Robin dies' vote won by something like 56 votes."

... and there was uproar by people that hadn't really been following the storyline, thinking the character that died was the original Robin (the original Robin had become Nightwing quite a while prior). They had a special on comic books on the History channel and that was one of the things brought up.

Cool. I'm looking forward to it. I like having individual issues rather than TPBs, but I do like some of those nice hardcovers.
