- The Exorcist (and sequel Legion) by William Peter Blatty
- The Shining by Stephen King
- The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
All three came from various "scariest books of all time" type lists I googled across. None was scary at all, although I liked the Blatty books just fine. Is there such a thing as a scary book? I've read other King's novels, I've read Koontz, some of it quality suspense novels, but not scary at all. Then again, I don't really remember a really scary movie neither, so it's probably just me.
Thoughts? Recommendations?
