Just finished this book last week. Amazing. I grew up as a young boy idolizing these guys. From postered walls to air guitaring and air drumming all their songs to mimicking Vince to sneaking a peek at the Wild Side video when it came out while trying not to wake my grandma so as not to elicit her ire to drawing pentagrams, caricatures and logos all over my school folders to getting my hands on anything Crue, these guys were IT. After reading this book, I learned that their lives had a serious, sad and tragic downside so much so that I found myself saddened and sympathetic to them. Did anyone else read this one?
Highly recommended. 11/10.

I know a lot of their story, but I've never read this book. I'll put it on my summer list.
I don't recall where I heard it, but I heard the life expectancy of rock stars is just under 50. And, they die at rates about 20x's higher than the average person from the ages of 20 to 40. Being a famous rock star is definitely hazardous to your health. It can be a meat grinder.

Yeah my buddy has the book and loaned it to me. Definitely a good read especially if like me you were in your late teens to early 20's when the hair bands were in full swing there's good stuff in there on a lot of bands.
