It is a good book, I read it a few years back.

Another good book about life in gangs and a success story of someone who got out is Hard Corps: From Gangster to Marine Hero by Marco Martinez.

I read it in like 1991.. My freshman year.. It helped me make the transition out the mind frame.. I was on the fringe.. After reading it, I moved away from it all even more than I was prior..

I had a girlfriend in college who started a correspondence with this guy. I always thought that was weird.
