Hunger Games

Anyone else read these books. Someone on this board recommended. Yes, they are supposed to be targeted to 12-18 year olds, but I liked the Harry Potter books as well.

Really good reads, especially the finale, "Mockingjay". Anyone else want to confess?

Movie to come out next year.

No shame here, they are very well written books. I loved the whole series but the first will always be my favorite.

My wife and I read them as well.

Pretty interesting world and concept in the series.

It was an easy read, but it was pretty dark for 12 year olds.

I really liked them.

Reading Catching Fire now - this book is messed up. The unfairness of it is so fantastic. I love Collins' writing - she has great pacing and paints great characters.

I really loved the first book - great mix of character development and action. And yeah, wonderfully dark for a youth fiction book.

Yeah, it's a great series. I'm really looking forward to the movies but with tempered expectations.

I started reading Hunger Games last night after the Superbowl and I stayed up until 330am finishing it because I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. It's been a long time since a book has captivated me like that. I cannot wait to read Catching Fire and Mockingjay.

No kidding, Shane.

The Kindle is $79 or you can read them on your kindle app (computer or smartphone or tablet) for free.

Kate is right. Anyone can loan you a kindle book 1 time out only for 14 days and you get it right away.

Much easier than snail mail (and while I greatly appreciate your sending me the Brad Thor books, there is a better way than package-taping and shipping a costco bulk Mac-and-Cheese box! )
