Try Amazon.com's used area...I think I got my copy for under $10 that way.

Read all four TWICE!!!

My son was just enamored with them! I had to read them twice to him! The fifth book will be MUST reading at our house. I also noticed the books get longer with each new one. The newest will be over 700 pages. Good fantasy/imagination material for kids!

I still have a gut feeling Shaq will be better next season (2008/2009) after our docs have a full off season to work their magic on the Big Saguaro!

Harry Potter

Okay,

Stand up and admit if you actually read the books and are excited about the next one.

I will admit it. The end of Book 4 was outstanding.

The wizard war has begun, and this "kids" series is pretty damn cool.

Saw the first movie, only read 2 chapters of the first book, but I plan on reading it someday.

I enjoyed both movies and purchased them. I would love to read the books, but I am not much of a reader

If you guys haven't read the third book

Then the third movie will suprise you. It's really cool and introduces the coolest character in the series...Sirius Black.

I've read all four, the last two more than once.

I thought the first two really sucked. However, you can actually see her skill get better. The last two were very engaging and flowed well.

I'm excited about the upcoming book. I hope to see a lot of goings on. I'll probably have to wait until after my wife is done with it though. That's okay.

I am pretty stoked for the fifth book to come out.

I originally vowed not to read the "kids" book, but a friend had a copy of one, and found myself enjoying them immensely.

Wayward Fan is correct - the books get better as the series (and her skill in writing them) increases.

I had to read all four books TWICE to my kid! It was pretty enjoyable. My poor wife is lost when me and my son discuss the characters, and subplots of the movies, since we know the stories frontwards and backwards. The movies are as true to the book as they can be cramming so much into a few hours.

I don't necessarily think it's her skill increasing as time goes on, I think she's adjusting the level of her writing to coincide with her characters becoming older.

JMHO.

I've never read any of the Harry Potter books, but I have a few friends who rave about 'em. I guess I should look into reading them sometime...

My sister can't wait, and I am looking forward to reading it as well. I'm going to get it Saturday at Costco.

I am pretty excited about the next film which will have more of Professor Snape who is portrayed wonderfully by Alan Rickman, and the addition of Gary Oldman.

I wish I had the patience to read books like that, but I am just not the reading type. My wife on the other hand, she'll be grabbing one hot off the shelf tomorrow morning.

I've never read the books, nor have I seen the movies, but my wife has. She absolutely loves them. I've already been informed that tonight we will be seeing the 9:30 showing of the Hulk, then it's off to get the Potter book at the midnight release.
