Al McCoy to receive basketball's Gowdy Award


Al McCoy, the longtime Phoenix Suns broadcaster, and former USA Today and New York Times newspaper reporter Malcolm Moran have been selected to receive the 2007 Curt Gowdy Media Award from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame during Enshrinement festivities September 7-9 in Springfield, Mass.

Good for Al.I love to listen to him on the Suns games.There are some who think he is too much of a homer,but i like the way he calls the game.

He can be a homer, but still call the game fair.

Isn't being a homer part of the job description? Chick Hearn was a homer, Vin Scully homer, Hawk Harrellson homer.
