A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that Josh McDaniels is expected to be hired by the New England Patriots as an offensive assistant for the rest of the season and will take over as offensive coordinator starting next season. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday because the team hasn't made an announcement.
