Would you do this trade...?

Marion

For

Mike Miller & Stromile Swift

I like the idea of the added depth. Miller on this team would explode IMO, he would be a deadly shooter. I also like adding Swift as a solid big athlete to rotate on Duncan for afew fouls.

In this trade we trade away the most talented player in the deal, but aquire 2 good role players, help depth/size.

Nope. We don't have anybody to replace Marion's perimeter D. It's crucial that Nash guards the opposing teams worst offensive player.

Adding Miller would open up the inside for Amare. With Nash, Miller, & even Bell we would be outstanding spot up shooters.

I agree we lose Marions D. But we also add much needed Role players to this team.

If the Suns can somehow get a true center(Sean Williams, Camby, Wallace, Noah) Getting Amare back to PF our team D will greatly improve.

Probably not, maybe if the 4 was involved. I don't want to lose Marion unless the Suns get an upgrade (KG) or a very similar player (Gerald Wallace) and a pick (8).

I'd do Marion + #24 + #29 for Miller, Swift + #4. I know that Swift hasn't shown much for his initial draft status, but I really think he would thrive in this system. He's one of the best shot blockers in the League per minutes played...and his put backs and slams could replace Marion's garbage points.

Since I've seen this in other threads, what makes you think Mike Miller is being shopped? I'm not being negative, but it seems like he's the only solid guy other than Gasol on their team.

Since when does the worst team in the NBA have people who can't be traded for because they aren't "being shopped". If the Suns called the Grizzlies and offered them Marion for Miller, do you really think the Grizzlies would say "Sorry. We're not shopping Mike. Is there anybody else you want?"

All we need now is some poster from ESPN MB to start a rumor about this trade!

Miller's kind of a candy ass IMO, he seems to always be hurt.

It's not like he would have a choice. He isnt a KG or Kobe who holds alot of power with opt out threats. Marion isnt stupid enough to opt out of a contract that is overpaying him as it is...

That's easy to say when you are not the gm.

Thats not the point. The point is there is no point in a different potential trade scenario with marion to a subpar team if he already threatened to opt out of the boston potential trade.

Theres no more convincing logic in this trade than there is with the boston trade. The boston trade is more legit because it puts him on a team with pierce and jefferson.

Once marion shuts down playing on a lineup of pierce/jefferson/marion/perkins/west there is no point bringing up a charlotte/memphis/atlanta/clippers/minnesota trade scenario.

There is no clogging of the middle problem for Amare that miller would solve. Marion starts at the perimeter anyway, so youre trying to solve a problem that isnt even there.

Besides, swift is a bit too raw for the finely tuned suns and miller is a one trick pony. You dont swap your most versatile player for that non-dynamic duo.
