Would you accept a trade for Kobe?

Lets say the Lakers wanted either of these 2 deals would you do it considering you have not gotten over the hump.

Trade 1 - Amare ,Barbosa 1# pick from Atlanta

Trade 2 - Barbosa , Marion 1# pick from Atlanta

Team 1

C Diaw
PF Marion
SF Kobe
SG Raja Bell
PG Nash

Team 2

C Amare
PF Diaw
SF Kobe
SG Raja Bell
PG Nash

I think team 2 would be a 65 win team and in the WCF. Im not sure if they could finally get past the Spurs ,but Kobe matches up much better against Gionobli then Barbosa does.

Honestly, if Kobe is on this team, Nash is odd man out, IMO....

But, as to the original post, NOOOOOOO on #1 and yes () on #2....

I would happily take the 2nd trade, and like DEI says Nash probably would have to go. I would even ship Nash out in a deal for Kobe, as it has been proven that combined with a dominant big man, Kobe can win a title.

of the two i'd take #2, but I think you hold on to Nash. Call me a homer but Nash is worth a lot to this team and we are lost without him.

I'm also not sure how to build around Kobe either. Will he trust anyone on that team besides Amare? He's had to do it all in LA, and I think he could adjust, but if we traded away all our talent we would be like LA has been for the last few years.

With D'Antoni and Nash the Suns will never trade for Kobe Bryant.

How about this one?

Nash ,Barbosa ,Kurt Thomas 1# pick from Atlanta

For Kobe and Jordan Farmar

C Amare
PF Diaw
SF Marion
SG Kobe
PG Farmar

You keep Marion and Amare and pair them with Kobe.

I'm not into bargaining for Kobe, however, I think even Kobe would appreciate the easy assists Nash would hand out and let Kobe freelance when the opportunity avails itself (and not out of necessity). I would think Kobe has learned he can only carry a team so far by himself.

You don't know much about me, I'm in the "trade Marion" crowd.

I would say if Nash is included then you take out either Barbosa or the Atlanta pick. Either way I like option number 2 the best.

I personally don't believe that Nash would have to go with Kobe on board. The roles would simply change. People seem to forget that Nash is an amazing spot up shooter, and even if the ball was in Kobe's hands a lot he would be the best pass out option on the team.

It isn't like Nash is making a max contract either, so you keep him for his leadership, ability to calm a locker room - and oh yah - his amazing skill. Kobe and Nash would have to both redefine their games a bit from what they have been the past few seasons - but I would be very surprised if both players wouldn't accept that (especially considering how good the team could be). Kobe is definitely at a point in his career where he wants to win more than anything, and I think we can all agree Nash is as well.

And about the trade, im with everyone else - no for #1 but yes for #2. And definitely not for #3.

I wasn't saying that Nash would HAVE TO go, but I think that Kobe ultimately would be his most effective if he were the primary ball handler and that obviously cuts deep into Nash's game. But, there's a way that Nash and Kobe could work together though....

I do not want to build a team around Kobe.

However, if the Suns did they would need someone unselfish like Nash so the ball gets distributed properly. Also I think there would be some friction on the team between Kobe and Amare in regard to one-upmanship. However, this can be good or bad depending on how it is vented. I actually think Kobe can handle it now but I'm not sure about Amare.
