Two realistic trades
1. Boris Diaw for Malik Rose
2. Steve Nash/Alondo Tucker/Atlantas first rounder for Baron Davis in a sign&trade. The Warriors are reportedly lowballing Baron and I'm sure Nelson would love to have Nash again.

No thank you to both trade scenarios. I'd rather have Diaw and all his faults than Malik Rose.
I would not be willing to give up Nash + anything for Baron Davis as orignally proposed or the Nash, Tucker and 15th pick for Baron Davis and Warriors pick (which most likely will be the 14th pick)

Malik Roses contract expires next year. Boris Diaws contract still has another 4 or so years. You would have to be a idiot not to do that deal.
Why wouldnt you want to trade a aging Nash for a player that would fit in perfectly and has more than 2 or so ok years in him?

Baron was injury prone.
I don't think we want to rebuild already now. With Shaq's contract, it's dominant strategy to wait for 2 more years. To contend the title, all we need is to get rid LB for a good defensive PG like Lowry or Jack. Sign some FAs now DA is gone and Phoenix might be a desirable destination again.

I disagree somewhat. If the FO is targeting '2011 to make major changes with our expiring contracts it would be smart GMing to start setting yourself up for it now despite losing.
Unfortunately it's also a business so "tanking" or shipping out valuable pieces like Nash/Diaw/Barbosa/Bell will kill Sarvers attendance.
Still, if i'm GM i begin tinkering this summer.

With Barbosa as main trade bait...
I think Suns should make an offer to Bucks's Mo Williams.
Sessions is there guy over there now... Bogut, Yi would develop better.
Mo Williams will provide the better point guard back up and combo guard skills at the 2.... and future guard for the Suns also.

Nash retires a Sun, and ends up in the ring of honor.

So lets say, Rockets call for an Alston/Battier + Pick for Nash/Tucker trade.... some people will easily dismiss that?
I'd atleast listen...
Trading Nash to a championship team is doing HIM a favour, because he does deserve to be playing for a contender.... and it seems the Suns are "stuck" outside the contendership circle.

I would not watch this team if we replaced nash with alston. Sorry. I would also probably look at someone funny if they said they would listen to offers.
Career 39% FG%
Career.
What's next? Bell+Barbosa for Ricky Davis and JWill?

that was an example...
And can you atleast admit that Alston had a decent season? No?
But still my point is.... if the Suns get a good offer... even if it means trading Nash... then why not consider it instead of dismissing it.
Quiet frankly, I respect Nash enough and appreciate him to trade him to a contender instead of him just retiring as a Sun for the sake of it...
Thats assuming Suns dont contend any more...

No! He had a great dozen games or so! He makes horrible decisions with the ball, and it only gets masked because tmac is handling the ball 90% of the time.
Your point was clouded and diminished by bringing up alstons name. plain and simple.
Just say you think the suns should entertain offers for nash, and leave it at that.
Speaking of your point, what makes you think nash even wants to leave? Go to a contender? The suns are still a legit force in the western conference, what "contender" would want to even make an offer for Nash? And what makes you think Nash no longer thinks the suns are contenders? Nash has even stated he is ok with not ever winning a ring, and its not his top priority in life.
Besides, the suns dont owe nash any favors, they overpaid for him at the time, and he decided to come here when his buddy Cuban thought he was washed up. We revived his career and helped him land back to back MVPs. Now we have to respect him enough to ship him out to a destination of his choosing? Seriously?
I've never encountered an Alston fan before. This is blowing my mind.

The Suns are still contenders. We are talented enough but had no time or willingness from our head coach's perspective to make the necessary adjustment to optimally utilize the talent.
