PTS: 19.1 REB: 5.9 AST: 4.2 PER: 17.28

Outgoing Players: Shawn Marion
Its alot for the Kings to give up but the'y still have a pretty talented core group of Mike Bibby,Kevin Martin, Shawn Marion, and Brad Miller.
We could also dangle a #1 pick out there since we value them so highly.
It works on the auto trader.
Personally, i'd give Kings 2 #1's if it'd make this deal work.
Garcia is only 26 and can shoot the 3ball.
Salmons is a young 28 and is an aggressive player on both ends of the floor. I like his game alot personally.
Artest is....Artest. IMO the guy who can probably help on Tony Parker and neutralize Ginobli. As well as bring some toughness to us sorely lacking in the post-season.
Not to mention that these 3 guys can all run and score, while Artest and Salmons can also defend.
Now you can all smack me with my own pipe dream.
Can you imagine the depth on this team??!!

For any team to want to acquire Marion, you either have a bad contract like AK47 you want to dump or you want to compete right away. So, it's quite perplexing why Kings or Sixers or Grizzlies would trade for him.

Or you want to bring in a high-flying slam-dunking all-star to bring some excitement to your boring team & sell more stuff.
Your point is definately valid but there are other reasons to make a deal like this.

So I guess rebounding is still not an issue? We already lost Kurt Thomas for a downgrade in rebounding in Skinner. Now you want to trade our best rebounder for someone who averages nearly half of what Marion does.

Marion was efficient for us against San Antonio last year, it was Barbosa that killed us. Otherwise, the Suns were fine...but only because the rebounding disparity wasn't big.

Just because salaries match doesnt mean it's worth posting.

I think the kings would question giving up artest and salmons for marion, let alone throwing garcia in. They would ask for barbosa as well, but probably settle on bell.

Anyway, i would expect the Kings to question this trade as was mentioned. There are various reasons that ALL trade proposals are scrutinized, questioned, and negotiated.
IMO the Kings would listen. Why? Because it involves an ALL-STAR in Shawn Marion. Whether or not Marion alone would be enough is questionable i agree. Like Cly2tw mentioned, alot would depend on where Sacramento believes they are and where they're going as a franchise at this point. THAT could be a more relevant debate here. If they they're re-building somewhat, then 1st round picks thrown in could be valuable.
If they feel that they're close and an ALL-STAR like Marion is what they feel is the missing piece then ok.(remember the SUNS felt they were close enough in '91-'92 and traded 3 starters for one ALL-STAR)
Or as i mentioned earlier, maybe the KINGS feel that they need a high-flying marketable ALL-STAR that wants to be "the man."
You never know.

you are also dealing with an all-star calibur player in Artest. and this trade is nowhere near fair for Sacramento.

throw in Barbosa and you get their interest, or have us take back a player like Kenny Thomas....something other than Marion who isnt even guarranteed to pick up his option and stay in Sacramento. OR, sacramento would have to shell out tons of money to keep him, something that a rebuilding team has no interest in doing.

Marion

for

Artest
Garcia
Kenny Thomas

and even still Artest is probably going to opt out of his contract after this season anyways, and the suns will have to fork out major money to keep him too. so this would cost us more monies next season anyways.

hell no. here's why:

1) they have thomas and they don't need another power forward. they have deng and don't need a small forward either
2) they need players who can create their own shot/score on the inside because they are a pure jump-shooting team right now.
3) they need young players because they are a team building for the future more than anything so marion doesn't do them much good in that reguard.
4) The suns would never take ben wallace because his contract sucks and he is definitely on the downside of his career. he is also pretty slow and won't do us a whole lot of good offensively.
5) Wallace is just as undersized as marion. Wallace is a center at 6'9....even smaller than amare. he doesn't have the athleticism he used to have to make up for that when guarding bigger players
6) wallace averages 5/9/2 to marion's 16/10/2/2/2.
7) marion guards almost any player 1-4, wallace guards only 4-5 so we would be relying a lot more on grant hill.
8) and finally, marion plays 37 minutes and wallace plays 33. again with the aging thing. 29 years old to 33 years old.
