Screw it, just send Marion to the Warriors
Richardson, Jasikevicius, and a future pick works for me.

And how would that help us win a championship?

Well the chemistry is shot now, so it would at least improve that. Richardson is a better scorer than Marion, but not as good defensively -- although, having said that, he certainly made a defensive impact in the Dallas series. So the idea would be that Stoudemire could try to become more of a defender, and it wouldn't be a crisis when he has to sit with fouls, because Richardson could take on more of the scoring load.
Assuming he's fully healthy (which I don't know about), Richardson is one of the league's premier scorers. You can't say that about Marion. I know that the Suns don't need more offense, but if they don't make some sort of move after this Garnett fiasco, they're sunk, because the locker room atmosphere is going to be poison all year long.

I don't think chemistry is shot. All this trade talk can be brushed off so easily. Not to mention that once these guys get into uniform and start playing and winning...nothing that happened in the off season will matter.

We get hosed in that deal. I mean, I like both of those players for our team, but Marion is clearly a much bigger step up for them than JRich and Jasi are for us. I'd give up Marion/ATL#1/#24/#29 for Biedrins/Richardson/Jasikevicius/#19 though....

I think Richardson could be scary good offensively in D'Antoni's system. He can finish just as well as Marion and actually has a jumpshot and a dribble. I would not however make this deal because it would already make a poor defensive and rebounding team that much worse.
Harrington/Jackson/whatever would probably make more sense as Jackson could be the perimeter defender we so thoroughly lack while Harrington could help out on the boards while providing depth although I probably wouldn't pull the trigger on that either unless I was 100% sure Stoudemire and Marion could not co-exist for 82 more games.

1) I don't think the Suns want any part of Jackson - image issues
2) I think that trade greatly favors the Suns - so much that GS would laugh at it
I'm telling you:
Marion/ATL#1/#24/#29 for Biedrins/Richardson/Jasikevicius/#19
Nash-Jasikevicius-Banks
Bell-Barbosa
Richardson-#19-Jones
Stoudemire-Diaw
Biedrins-Thomas
I'd be very satisfied with that deal....

And that trade doesn't ridiculously favor the Suns? The Warriors are very high on Biedrins.
In my proposal, I have no interest in Jasikevicius, who is salary ballast and would be gone in a year. Maybe D'Antoni could figure out how to use him, but probably not.
It's not at all clear to me that Marion is dramatically better than Richardson. Richardson is a better scorer and Marion is a better rebounder.

The Suns couldn't afford to extend Biedrins anyway.

The question on this trade is:
Does this give us a better chance to beat the Spurs?

I think it does. Do you think the Spurs could put Parker on Richardson and get away with it?

No probably not. I only think you can make this sort of deal if you can get a good bench defender.

Well, since Jasikevicius is expiring, he could probably be packaged with a pick to a team with space, and the Suns could use the savings to sign someone for close to the MLE.

Exactly! This effect alone would change the outcome to our favor. Bell would do equally good if not better job on Parker and Richardson is not bad vs Manu. And our 3pt shooting would be increased a lot too.
