Sacramento to trade Mike Bibby or Artest

Interesting if true. Bibby is probably the closest player to Nash in the NBA. What about swinging a deal for Bibby as the heir apparent to Steve?

Kings to trade Artest or Bibby

Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie's most important calls will be what to do, if anything, with small forward Ron Artest and/or point guard Mike Bibby. After speaking with several people associated with the team, it seems a done deal that one of them will be traded.

Nope, WAAAAY too much money would be tied up at the PG spot. We need to groom a player to be the Nash heir.

We tried being PG heavy in the 90's didn't work too well for us.

heir apparent? i thought that was used to label a guy that steve would mentor and groom.....not a proven starter already making MORE money than nash, and is already in/a little past his prime.

are you suggesting paying $25mil for two PG's? and i'd LOVE to see who you'd be willing to give up to make this trade.

it makes ABSOLUTELY no sense to trade for an "heir apparent" who already makes more than Nash, and who's contract expires BEFORE Nash's.

Artest's value is not high right now. In all honesty, I don't know why another team would want to take a chance on the guy. It always turns out the same way. Everything is fine until the honeymoon period is over. Then the crap hits the fan. Keep him away from PHX please.

Banks for Artest. Make it happen. He's the best perimeter defender in the league, can finish at the rim, and shoot the three. I'm confident that Nash can make this work.

I'm hearing that the Heat are interested in Artest, but outside Shaq and Wade, I'm not sure if they have anything the Kings would want in return.

Honestly, at this point the Kings will probably give Artest away. Not sure why the Heat would want him as they have a very similar player in James Posey, that is unless Posey is on his way out.

i dont think he is, but i may be wrong. they might trade someone like eddie jones who is a good defender and maybe jason whatever his name is for artest. seems viable to me

EDIT: Jason williams is the guy i was looking for

At this point I would trade diaw AND banks for Artest if he would sign a Promissory Note declaring he would not hit his girlfriend, he would hire a dog sitter, and would take anger management courses.

He is exactly the kind of toughness we need (without the off court antics) as long as he can control himself.

It would be too much at the PG position but from a talent perspective it would be great. I don't see the Suns going out and getting Artest either though.
