With Blake going BACK to Portland and already having Jack and Sergio there, makes the deal a little odd. Could Portland be gearing up for a trade? They have bought our Franchise(killer), and with Blake they now have 15 players under contract next season. That's not counting any of their 2nd round picks they drafted. Could we see a deal in 3 months of maybe Marion or KT to Portland? Is Marion's opt out scaring the Suns in the fact that they could lose him with no compensation? I'm kinda thinking maybe a deal similar to this could be possibly looked at and would help both squads.
Marion
KT
Atlanta 08 pick
Blake ($5.6 mil)
Outlaw ($4.25 mil S&T)
Frye
Aldridge
and one of either Pryzbilla/Miles
That would have the Suns like:
Nash
Bell
Hill
Diaw
Amare
Or something like this since it seems like Portland is looking for a taker for Jack.
With Blake going back to Portland how bout this?
Marion
Pike
08 Atlanta pick
for
Jack
Frye
Aldridge
Webster
Pryzbilla
then
KT for Portland TE
The KT/TE deal could be workable if the Suns were to throw in a draft pick or 2 but Portland has no reason to even think about the Marion/Aldridge deal as it is horrible for them. Though if you take out Aldridge, Portland might consider it.
You've got to be kidding me. Why would Portland trade Aldrige? They just got rid of Randolph so Aldrige and Oden could play together. Why would they trade him now for crap?

Thats a great post, but remember taht Adridge was the #2 overall pick in the draft. He is supposed to be good himself, I dont know if that works with him there. I think Portland is trying to build around a Oden and Aldridge combo that would dominate in the future... especially mixed with Brandon Roy. If they were to give up Aldridge, is Oden that NBA ready that Portland would try to win now by adding Marion? I understand our team would be deeper....but would it be better? Not with the current Aldridge, maybe the five years in the future Aldridge will be sick but he wont help us. And thats what the Suns need to do in order to maximize Nash...WIN NOW, not worry about building around the future Barbosa or even Stoudemire, now would open that up for the future to be great too. If the Suns are worried about payroll, Id rather keep Marion if that is the caliber player he is going for, because a mix of the ATL pick and Marion is worth at least KG... So if thats the case, lets trade the Atlanta pick and get rid of Marcus Banks. Its honestly the smart move. In the future the Suns will be capable of signing a Marque Free Agent, which doesn't make the draft as important. Maybe a Carmelo caliber player??? But thats real far in the future.
