Marion for Shaq Rumors are floating
Hoopsworld is doing it, but they did call the Kwame for Gasol trade a few hours before.
Shaq for Marion and Banks works under the cap. And there is some merit. We might rebound slightly better with Shaq on the floor, even though Shawn's numbers are better.
Shaq, Amare, Diaw front line has a little physicality to it. Shaq doesn't have to run the floor if he can make good outlet passes. It certainly would make our half court offense better.
hmmmm. A day ago I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but now, with Gasol going to LA for nothing, I open to the idea.
Swap the Miami pick for the ATL pick, and its really tempting.

Oh my..do it Sarver!!!
The suns would be brought to ruin with that guy.
Seriously, he is completely NOT what you need. He can't run the floor, he's fat and declining rapidly. We dealt him before he hit this spot, so we had a chance to recover.
With that said...I hope the hell the suns do it.

I'd rather have the declining version of Zo if it was a choice between the 2.
No thanks.

Marion, Diaw and Banks for Shaq, Wright, Williams and the right to swap picks would be ok.

As A Laker fan..
I hope the Suns do this. That would take one more team out of the mix.
Shaq is done.

If they do this it is out of desperation. Marion is a better rebounder then Shaq at this point and the guy can't run to save his life.
No on Shaq.

This rumor had to be made up by a Heat fan. It makes NO sense from the Suns point of view. Shaq gets paid an obscene amount of money and he's got almost nothing left in the tank.

Edit: The more I think about it, the more hopeful I am. Let's see if he has anything left in the tank...

This would be a sad trade, but it does make sense on one level. According to realgm, Shaq's contract has 2 years left on it so it would end when Nash's does. If you can jettison Diaw and, hopefully, Banks in the deal then their 4 and 3 year contracts, respectively, would free up tons of cap space when Nash and Shaq (and Bell) complete their contracts. The Suns would have Amare, Barbs, and cap space.

Wow, the shaq thread on realGM is 8 pages long with multiple sources. There are definitely talks going on. It seems to revolve around marion/Diaw or marion/banks, and it hasnt died for a while now...
I hope Kerr has the foresight to realize he will require haslem in this deal as well. You cant trade MArion (our pf who plays 1000 min per game) for Shaq(who is injured more often than not) and not get a backup big(Haslem) in return.
Marion/Diaw/Banks/ATL for Shaq/Haslem/Wright/2nd rounder
