Interesting Chad Ford trade Rumor
One potential deal that could have an interesting impact on both teams? Sounds like the Suns and Clippers are talking about a deal that would send the No. 7 pick and Corey Maggette to Phoenix for Barbosa and the No. 15 pick.
That deal only works if Maggette decides not to opt out of his contract this week. If he opts out, Maggette couldn't be signed-and-traded until mid-July.
Very interesting trade. I would pull the trigger on it.
I apologize if this was already posted or if it should have gone in the rumor thread.

Eh,
So the Suns get the better player AND the higher pic? Is Baylor smoking crack?

Maggette isn't a better player and Barbosa has the more valueable contract.

Maggette isn't gonna stay with them anyway. They could convince him not to opt out by promising a trade to Suns. In essense, this is #7 for LB and #15 for them. The Clippers make out like pirates here! I'd guess they must be satisfied with #7 for LB alone, plus Tucker or a future low pick.

the number 7 pick for Barblowsa is still worth it. You can get Bayless at 7 or a competent point guard rather than having Barbosa who isnt a point guard or a shooting guard with 0 defense and passing skills.

Not sure how much you've watched Bayless, but he is definitely more of a combo guard than a pure point.

More of a PG than Barbosa however.
With Bayless its up in the air if he can be a true PG too, it's not clear wether he can be one or not.
This deal plus the Diaw for Ford or another good role player plus a mid round pick seem excellent.
In total Barbosa and Diaw for Magette, Ford, #7 and #17 doesnt sound bad.

Okay, you try and convince yourself of that. I'm taking the 6'6" guy who averages 22 a game and gets to the line 9 times a game. I'll take him 11 times out of 10.

Yeah, no kidding. I can see Magette and #15 for Barbosa and #7, but not the other way around.
