If D'Antoni's philosophy is to outscore them....

....then lets outscore the hell of them

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...10~10&te=&cash=

I could'nt find out how to add this but i throw in the ATL 08 pick as well.

Why the Rockets make this trade:

They are starting to find out that T-Mac just can't stay healthy and is finding out they can win without him. Some have even said T-Mac is disenchanted and "phasing" out according to this article:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ets/index.html

Now they can start to focus their offense around Yao AND get a great do everything guy in Sean Marion who moves Shane Battier to the bench where he belongs. Plus they get a young asset and lead scoring guard in LB who scores close to Tracy, makes 1/6 of what he makes, and most importantly stays healthy. Not only does it potentially give it the team a chance at a playoff run but if Marion opts out in the next two years they have a ton of cap room, a couple of young assets in Yao and Barbosa and a likely to 12 pick to get REALLY good when Yao and Barbosa are in their primes.

Why the Suns do it:

Well it would revitalize T-Mac (my guess is magically he would play the rest of this year) and allow Mike do to what he wants to do: Drop a 130 on everybody. Also the chemistry hopefully would be improved with Marions sour puss out. Potentially even more importantly get some strong front court depth with Scola who could even start alongside STAT possibly.

I actually think the Suns would be less likely to do this deal because of the length to T-Macs deal and his back - but with our own chemistry issues, it might be worth considering. I really think Scola adds toughness and T-Mac is the ultimate wild card playing along side Amare and Nash.

that ridiculous even without throwing in the Atl pick. T-Mac is always hurt and he's owed a boatload of cash to do what, warm the damn bench. Hell no.

Rockets would have to throw in THEIR pick to make me even consider that for a second.

DA's philosophy is the problem. That trade is "offensive!"
With this trade we could see the 2nd coming of backcourt 2000 (KIDD/HARDAWAY)
with backcourt 2008 (NASH/McGRADY) and they could also never see playing time together.

You are aware those stats are not in a vacum, correct? There are maybe a 100 variables that go into thos "stats" you bring up. This isn't NBA LIVE GM mode.

I am under the impression that if McGrady came here that his scoring average would go up, we would have a more "traditional" 4 to rotate in with Amare, Skinner and Diaw and ohyeah....we are getting a Top 5 talent in this league.

Does anyone ever remember what happens in the seasons prior to this one? Its like that idiot Sunsman44 who stumped that we wouldn't make the playoffs because of all the improvement of the West this year AFTER 8 GAMES! You know who was near the top of his playoff seedings? LA Clippers and Houston.

Things change. I like our training staff to do a better job with T-Mac, I think he would have a career year here in this system and I think we could legitimitely build around him and Amare going forward. This is assuming his back condition is not deginerative of course. But if it's not and he checks out okay - Your crazy not to chase after a guy like T-Mac.

Oh and we all completely overvalue our own assets. RIght now gys in Houston would be saying "why the hell would we trade T-Mac for a role player and a SG stuck in a PG's body.

Like KG, Vince Carter, and Baron Davis sometimes these guys just need a change of scenery. And this is as close as we get to getting back a legitimate superstar for Barbosa and Marion period. knowwhati'msayin?

Well, TMac definitely is a huge gamble health wise with such a big contract. So, they should compensate Suns a little more by throwing Head into the trade too.

However, I also read somewhere that TMac's problem with Rockets was they play too fast now, which wears heavy on his knees and backs. In that case, he wouldn't want to play for DA anyway.

Hey Grant Hill and T-Mac would finally get to play together!
