They would have to be throw aways...because of their lack of production this year and their high salaries. Possbile, but not likely.

So I was thinking about moving Marcus Banks as I often do and had an idea, how would people feel about packaging Banks w/ Atlanta's first rounder next year to move him? Its risky, and probably wouldn't be done until after this upcoming year (when the exact location of Atl's pick is known), however, it could end up netting the Suns a quality player in addition to moving Banks.
Nobody is untradable. However, it may not be possible to make a deal that that is going to make the team any better.
Banks struggled in Boston and struggled in Phoenix. His salary is high enough that other teams won't take him unless it is for another underachiever they don't want. You can try to turn him around or try to turn around another guy; but don't expect to dump his salary (even with picks as boot) or get a quality player. Wait a couple of years and he might serve as cap filler, but right now he's a deal killer on bigger deals.
Diaw is a base year contract player on a moderly good sized contract. Considering all the problems base year deals create (I can't remember a base year guy being trading since the designation went into effect), he is mostly off the table for a year. From what I can tell, the Suns continue to believe in him and certainly are not going to do a panic sale with him.
There is no doubt Diaw has alot of skills. When he attacks the basket & does not pass out everytime, he is damn good.
If Marion was a better three point shooter, this wouldn't be a problem. The response to the "hit the open man" is that this guy needs to be able to shoot from there.
Banks will probably be easier to trade during the big free agency rush of next season. The cap will rise more, players' salaries will be on the increase, and Banks' ~ $4 mil/three years contract will be a bit easier to swallow for a team looking for a backup PG.
The other option is for the Suns to negotiate a buyout. The problem with that is there is no tax amnesty for buyouts. That was a one-time thing for players acquired under the old CBA. But at 50 cents on the dollar for Banks to earn his freedom, he might take a deal and the Suns probably wouldn't mind cutting $6 million or so from the bottom line.
The running layup is the higher % shot, and it also results in fouls. Causing foul trouble & a less aggressive Defense.
Contested layups are not a sure thing. I wish Diaw would go for dunks more because he gets stuff blocked too often. In any case, if Boris was passing to a 45% three point shooter rather than a 31% shooter, there would not be the weak side help coming over in the first place.
Diaw is tradeable, he just needs to start. He's just not athletic or aggressive enough around the rim, but another solid season could get some demand going.
There's a number of teams that would like Diaw.
Banks on the other hand is another question. The contract is tradeable, but who wants him? Despite everything surrounding him i think he could run the triangle fine w/ the Lakers.

I agree on all counts.
Lakers fans have been calling for Banks for 2-3 years now.
I think Diaw's rep would be that he is a good, young, versitle player who was pretty lazy in '06-'07. His contract is a little scary, but he wouldnt be a bad guy for a team to acquire.
