Unless they were willing to trade him for Marion/Banks or Marion/Pike, I don't see it happening. I'm certainly not in favor of giving them the Atlanta pick.

He is a 6'11 big man that has shot above 45.2% once in the last 4 years. All he does is shoot jump shots these days. He has never been a great rebounder, averaging under 10 a game the last 3 years.
He has injury problems, and when he gets hurt they seem to linger for a while after he comes back.
Oh, and we would also have the pleasure of paying him 20 million dollars next season.
I think Oneal would actually get me more frustrated than Marion does these days.

He is injury prone and would slow us down considerably.
Also, wasnt he one of the ones throwing the haymakers alongside artest in the battle royale?

This is a classic example of trade that cannot happen.
1. The Pacers want inside guys, not an SF
2. The Pacers are rebuilding and do not need a player with only two years left on his contract.
3. JO has no experience in an up tempo offense.
4. JO is often injured

JO is the best shot blocker in the league right now. Better than Camby and Duncan.

At this point, The biggest problem for Phoenix in any trade is, with a rookie GM who now has a rep for trying to dump salary, all teams will insist on someone getting back someone else that the Suns don't want to give up.
Thus, I think any blockbuster deal will need to include Amare and not Marion until Kerr proves himself.

Another dumb statement. Statistically, Marion is pretty close to J O'Neal without being the focal point of his team's offense.

O'Neal 43.6%

Not to mention would never happen in a million years. My only point is that sometimes it seems like people lose sight of just how much Marion contributes to this team. He may be overpaid, but he's still a big part of this team.

He is the glue that holds the system together. While im guilty of discussing trade ideas about him, my main preference is for him to stay put.
