Gambo and Ash listeners please answer this question...
A poster at another board is saying that Gambo mentioned on his show yesterday that the Suns have inquired about Ron Artest.
Can anybody confirm this?

He feeds off us when his sources are too busy to bother with him. I doubt we will get artest more than I doubted we would land shaq.

Steve Kerr already mentioned the Suns were looking at bigs. No specifics though. He said the Heat approached the Suns about Shaq. So Shaq wasn't on their radar. So Artest could have been one of them.

I hadn't heard that & i listen whenever i can.
Pleeez let there be truth to that.
I do know that Vinny Del Negro was on A.M. radio about an hour ago & when discussing adding another piece said that we were looking for defensive help on the wings as well as someone with experience.
That tells me that we won't be adding some young D-league guard to groom for the future.

Yes to Ron Ron........that dude IS crazy & will neutralize either one the SPURS guards.
Imagine having Bell & Artest to throw at the Kobe's,the Parkers, the Ginoblis, the Dirk's(Artest),the J.Howards etc...nice.

Artest and Hill would be a great SF combo, but who would start? Is grant hill perfectly content with having his starting position divvied out to Diaw AND artest? Diaw would have to be our PF/C full time if Artest was brought in. I dont think we would have enough minutes to go around to satisfy Artest. Besides, he has said he wants to go to NY, and plans to opt out. On the other hand im sure he wouldnt mind finishing up the season on a contender and just doing his thing for 5 more months. Then he could do whatever he wants in the offseason, and since his contract would be pro-rated it wouldnt bite the luxury tax that much. Sarver would prob see something like 6-7 million including tax to bring him on for a half year rental.
stream of conciousness ftw

i'd trade for artest in an instant. but we really dont have much of anything that'll work in a deal.
we have our TE and what? including a first rounder wouldnt make much sense for us, because for all we know, artest is a rental. Diaw is out of the question for various obvious reasons.
Barbosa? Bell?

I would love to see Artest on the Suns since I have given up all hope of them ever winning a championship. That being said, as much as I would love to see the Suns get such a good player for free, he HAS to go to the Knicks. There has never been a more amazing fit for a player. That would be the most entertaining sight possible. Tuning in every night knowing that there is a good chance you could again hear Mike Breen yelling, "Artest is in the Stands...again!!!!"

Not unnecessarily. According to AZRepublic they said that the Suns are bringing in 4 players (free agents and D-Leaguers) on the 19th to find their 13th guy. I'm actually hoping that we grab Kaniel Dickens from the 14ers (D-League). He is a stud offensively AND Defensively. In the Suns system he can play 3 positions (SG/SF/PF) although he is a true SF.
